When a forensic physician position becomes available, in addition to the interview process with the Forensic Psychiatric Service, there are a number of requirements physicians must meet in order to practice in British Columbia including:

• Licensing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons BC
• Passing standardized examinations, undergoing physician credential verification, and issuing the Canadian licensing qualification (LMCC) through the Medical Council of Canada
• Qualifying and obtaining designation through the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons
• If non-Canadian, undergoing the immigration process through the BC Provincial Nominee Program
